After my mother passed away, I inherited her little file box of recipes. I am sharing them here for all her descendants and anyone else who might enjoy them. Most of them are quite outdated as we have access to a greater variety of ingredients now, we eat healthier and we have internet to help us! If you do use one of the recipes, I would love to have a comment on what you think of it.

Oatmeal Crisps

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp salt

  1. Cream the sugar and the butter; add well-beaten eggs and the vanilla.  Blend well.
  2. Combine rolled oats, baking powder and salt; add to the creamed mixture and mix well.
  3. Drop by teaspoonfuls 2 or 3 inches apart on a greased baking pan.
  4. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.
  5. Remove from pan at once to prevent breaking.
