2 cups sugar
1 cup butter and lard
1 cup thick cream
4 eggs
1 stsp soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
5 1/2 cups flour

- Thoroughly cream the sugar and shortening. Stir in the cream and eggs.
- Add the dry ingredients which have been sifted together. Mix well.
- Chill overnight
- Roll on floured board to 1/4 inch thickness.
- Cut out with cookie cutter.
- Sprinkle sugar on top.
If you want to decorate with raisins in the center use cooked ones.
Bake for 10 minutes at 400 degrees.
